Bosch 3912 CMS – Need your reports!
If you’ve used a Bosch 3912 compound miter saw, I’d really like to know your opinion of the saw. How accurate is it? Any problems with blade wobble, flexing of the table, etc.? It a nicely-priced saw, and I like Bosch tools in general, but there are some negative reports on Amazon for this one. Thanks in advance!

Jammie,
I'm at the point of replacing my RAS and was considering the Bosch as well. I too will be interested inother's experiences.

Hi Doug, I'll let you know what my experiences are, but I won't be able to get my hands on the saw for 2 weeks. Didn't someone say "Patience is a virtue"? That's what they say. I suspect however, the person who siad that was the same person who already had everything!
Enjoy.
Just brought in a 3912....don't know if there is a difference between a 3912B, Bosch website seems to be down, anyway mine just says 3912..... without a lot of time on it, seems to be a fine saw. Out of the box, squares were telling me it needed a little tweaking, and did a little, but the cuts were fine. I'll put a better blade on it (anything but one of them Freuds!.....just yanking your chain), but I was fairly impressed with the blade that came with it. I've had a fair number of Dewalts, so I tend to compare saws to that.....much prefer Dewalt to Delta, and I haven't like the Makitas much....anyway, now it would be a tossup between the Dewalt (mine is a few years old now), and the Bosch, and I'd probably give the Bosch the edge. Definitely, when you factor in the price....Bosch was $70 cheaper.
I looked at some of those reviews at Amazon you mentioned in your post....I don't see any of those defects. Like I said , looks pretty good to me. I don't expect miracles out of a saw in this class though.....for super accuracy, I use a tablesaw or something else. Couldn't live without a CMS though.
So basically, I don't think you would be disappointed, unless you are, and I think they are good saws, unless the one you buy isn't, in which case this does NOT constitute an endorsement, and no libility can accrue to me. I'm emailing you the standard waiver form; please sign, and courier it back to me. Hope that clears things up for you.

Thanks for responding, Adrian, and I hereby and in advance clear you of any possible liability in this case, LOL!
I went ahead and ordered it last night to meet the Father's Day sale deadline (ohhhh, I love Father's Day sales!). Crossing my fingers the whole time, mind you. It was a toss-up between the Bosch and the Delta MS450. There's about a $30 savings with the Delta when you factor in a set of supports and stops for the Bosch, but I just had a feeling the Bosch would be a better machine.
I found this tool review on-line and it gave me some reassurances. Bosch 3912 compound miter saw CMS.What's the bottom line, you ask? $204.99! $237 for the saw, $17.99 for the support and stop kit. Minus $50.00 for Daddy's Day sale, no shipping, and since my hubby has an official residence in OR and pays taxes there, no sales tax either! Cool.
Anyone wanna buy a Delta 8.25" CMS? Just kidding, stop throwing those tomatoes!! I'll find someone who wants my little saw.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
I have the 10" slider, 3915 I think, so my experience is not directly applicable. It is good but not great. It can produce very smooth cuts, with a 60T blade, but getting perfectly square cuts is another matter... the fence is tricky to align and even with repeated fussing, I still find my cuts are slightly out of square. Don't know if this is a result of runout, play, or just my technique... I finally got a sliding TS wing for finish crosscuts, and use the SCMS for rough cutting before stock preparation.
