Hi all,
I have had my Bosch 4000 portable tablesaw for almost 4 years now and it doesn’t owe me a thing. I have built many projects with it and I still love it. The saw still works and cuts well. Recently however, I am noticing that the saw is getting louder and especially when I shut it down and it is coming to a stop. Berrings? I don’t think so. Maybe I need the brushes changed? Maybe the motor is on its last legs? Anyone have a problem with their motor and what can I expect from mine? A new motor perhaps? Is it worth getting it repaired? There is no burning smell from the motor.
I would appreciate anyones input into this. Thanks.

Big Dave, I've had my 4000 for at least 4 years and it has been a good saw. Last year it got quieter when I went to Freud blades. Does your noise increase coincide with a blade change?

I have tried another blade as well as a dado set. Still loud. I will try Bosch tech support. Thanks for your response.
I would call the tech support line at Bosch -- 877-267-2499.
Previous poster made a good point about blades; some are much noisier than othrs.

Worn brushes wouldn't cause additional noise. About the only moving parts on those saws are the bearings, and either gears or belts, and I would suspect that one of those are the source of the noise.
