Hello,
I’m thinking of purchasing a Trim Router and I was wondering if anyone owns a Bosch Colt VS Palm Router and has some feedback to pass on.
Any info would be much appreciated,
Thanks
Doug

I have owned one for about six months. It is a great little router. Ergonomically great feel in use. Easy to change bits. Easy height adjustment. Has a solid feel when in use. Also, the price is reasonable. I recommend!
If you don't mind me asking, what collet sizes are available?
Thanks,

Any size you want as long as it's 1/4 inch. It's a trim router.

Thanks. I was hoping there might be an eighth-inch collet available.

You might be able to get an 1/8 inch adapter for the 1/4 inch collet. I'll call the Bosch rep and find out. Are you looking to run Dremel/Fordom cutters?

Thanks!
I wasn't thinking of Dremel, just ultra-small router bits for stringing, etc.

I have also owned it for awhile and I concur. I also own a Porter Cable trim router and it the Bosch seems easier to change the bit and the base is more stable. Gets good write ups in magazines as well.
I've had one for several months and have been very pleased with it.. Art
had some problems with it on the first production run. Not any more, I use & I'd recommend it.
Thanks, Pat!

I've had a Colt and now have a DW trimmer.
The Colt is better made, smoother, quieter and has a far better base/height adjustment than the DW.
But I returned the Colt when the switch kept getting stuck in the ON position. I'd been routing out lock moritises holding it sideways (doors were hung) and the shavings seemed to be drawn to the switch area. If Bosch would change the switch to one that didn't have a big gap behind the switch (like the DW), I'd buy the Colt again.
