I am thinking of finally biting the bullet and buying a jigsaw. The Bosch is raved about here. Is the top handle the one, or the barrel grip better? Woodworkers Supply is at about $159 or so; is there a better price around?

The Bosch is a good jig saw, but seriously look at the Metabo for a much better saw. They are both German made, but the Bosch is a knock off of the Metabo without the quality. Metabo motors are hand wound, and tool assembly is by hand. Their quality control is second to none in the business. For the extra $20, it's well worth it.

Thanks. Where can I see them on the web; who are the sellers?
I think amazon carries the saw.

Thanks. $20 is not relevant to a long term tool. Does the Metabo use standard blades? Are they the same as Bosch?
Yes they do. I'm also not sure of the "Bosch" blade thing. I think it's a name that stuck when they brought the blades to this country.

If youre into German Jig Saws, look at the festool
I've never seen it, but I have heard great things about festool tools also. Who deals in them?
Don
they sell direct
Haveyou looked at the Freuds?? Lowes has them on close out for $77.00 I just picked one up last week a sweet saw..
Take Care.. ToolDoc
I have a barrel grip bosch and really like it. The only thing I would change is the switch, I'd prefer a paddle switch as I am left handed and the current switch position is a little awkward for me.
By the way, Baldor used to hand wind their motors... they use computers and machines to do it now.
