I just purchased a Bostitch 15ga finishing nailer. The best I recall HD sells a wide selection of angled PC nails. Are these the same angle and will they work in the Bostitch.
I really want 1″ nails and Bostitch doesn’t seem to make them.
Thanks,
Bryan

Hey Bryan, From allllll the year's I've been doing finish work there has only been one degree setting for 15 ga. finish nails......I would wager $100 all "brands" of the 15 ga. angled finish nails will work in your nailer. T
That's what I figured. As long as Craftsman and Ryobi don't get into the business it will probably stay that way :)
Thanks for the help,
B
Careful of the $100 buck wager! Did a little digging tonight and there are 2 15 gauge angle nails. The Bostitch and Grizzly use 25 degree angled "FN" nails.
The PC, Hitachi, etc use "DA" nails which are angled at 34 degrees.
Now the question is: Where to purchase 1" FN nails. The shortest Bostitch sells is 1 1/4 inch yet they spec the gun at 1",
My purchase decision was narrowed to the PC and Bostitch because I wanted 1" capability. The Bostitch won out because of the oiless feature. Now I can't find 1" nails for the gun.
Where ever you are, the lumber yards will get you whatever you want if they don't already stock it. Drop Bostitch an email or go to thier website, they will probably have a dealer list.
I talked to Bostitch customer service today and they said no one makes 1" FN nails anymore. Paslode did until about 6 months ago.

I run senco nails in my bostict
Do you have a 15 gauge Bostitch?
The Senco 15 gauge nails are DA 34 degree and Bostitch told me it won't shoot DA nails.
If you are running them in the N62FNK Bostitch do you have any trouble?
Thanks,
My bad......thanks for setting it straight........a bit embarrasing re: my $100...T
Only Bostich nails fit the N60FN finish nailer. There are generic brands that state they are for Bostich only. The HD I go to carries 1 1/4",2", and 2 1/2" 15 gauge angled nails.

My large hope is that I have not led ANYONE to purchase something that would not work in their nailer........I have never used Bostich and I just "assumed" the other nailers were all a "standard" angle in the 15 ga., I have used MANY of the other brands and that is the reason I said that....they all take the nails from the other makers. A valuable lesson for me re: speaking of something I had not had in my own hands.......apologies to all concerned, and thanks for setting it (me) straight. ~ Z~

Bostitch might make one that does use the senco/pc/hitachi type nails called DA's but I don't think so. Check out this link and see if your model is the same. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00004RJXI/qid=1114700957/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1_etk-tools/103-2190377-3524642?v=glance&s=hi&n=228013
I don't know what the difference is but it's probably a slightly different angle or nail head but either way I don't think they'll work. However, bostitch is popular so you shouldn't have touble finding the nails you need. HD and Lowes should have them and all the supply houses/lumber yards.
Bryan,
I found this in a journal of light construction article.
Fastener Type
There are two types of 15-gauge angle nails: the DA type that was invented by Senco and the FN type from Bostitch. The only two guns that take FN nails are the Bostitch and the Makita. Most guns take DA nails. There are only minor differences between the DA and the Bostitch-type fasteners. DA fasteners are collated at a slightly steeper angle and have rounder heads than the Bostitch nails. Both types are available in a variety of finishes and materials. Senco recently introduced a hardened DA nail designed to fasten trim to steel framing.
Thanks for the help! I found FN nails at Lowes, but I'm really disappointed that I can't get 1" nails. I considered returning the nailer, but the oiless feature won out.
I'm putting together 12 bookcases right now and I'm extremely pleased with the nailer! Sure makes life a lot easier to be able to shoot the nails then come back and put in the screws.
I've been using an 18 gauge nailer for this purpose, but it doesn't have the strength to cinch things up.
If you want the oil-less feature, senco makes at least one 15 ga that is oil-less and uses the DA style nails. My two favorite guns are the hitachi which needs oil and the senco which is oil free.
