Bought brand new round blade from Grizzly and brand new DeWalt 735.
Decided time to move up. Bought a brand new DeWalt 735, wore out two prior.
Bought Helix ? Blade assembly from Grizzly.
studied directions watched vids x ?
installed unit.
first ran flawlessly with very smooth finish.
soon rubber rollers stopped and started so was not pushing out wood as should.
did not run it very long, barely moving,
melted drive belt in DeWalt.
have asked for help from DeWalt, worthless, now after Covid all of December, I need someone to fix it if they can.
I would normally do but missing all month out with Covid and pneumonia has many customers waiting.

It's difficult to speculate on a cause.
It would seem that either the belt was too loose, and so burned or far more likely, something jammed.
Have a look and check that everything around which the drive belt is supposed to move still moves. Top pick for me would be a bearing got damaged during the install, or has got clogged up with dust. If the motor still runs, then a replacement drive belt and perhaps a bearing or two might be all you need to fix it.
It's a bit harsh to blame deWalt when you have modified the machine. Stuff like this happens. Best of luck fixing it.
