Does anyone know of a box joint jig for the table saw that does not require a dado set? I want to make box joints with fingers at least 3/4″ wide and I want to got up to 1 1/2″ wide. I saw a mention on the internet of a box joint jig that did not require use of a dado set but unfortunately no information was given.

Experiment a bit with some box joint jig. Cut the first void (space between two fingers), using several passes on a table saw, to the width of intended fingers. Use that void to register against the pin and repeat with multiple passes. Start with the left end of a void touching the left side of the index pin, then move across till the right end touches the right side of the index pin. Of course, you can start (your preference) at the right side and move to the left. A ripping blade with flat ground teeth should be used for clean cuts.
I hope that this outline gives you enough insight to get you started.
Best wishes,
Metod
