All,
I’m in the process of making a 30x24x3″ box with box joints. I’ve made a jig and with scraps from the same wood, same size, etc. ran some test joints. They are okay…but just okay. It seems the Systi Matic or maybe its my TS is cutting at slightly different depths. There are about 5-6 fingers with the first and last being maybe 1/32″ greater depth than the others. Is this as good as it gets? I do not have the top of the line Systi..on sale about $150. I’m clamping the stock so it hard ot imagine it me. Any ideas, thanks

Check your insert plate and makes sure it's dead flat with the table. It's sorta like tenons and rabbets -- if the insert isn't flat with the table, or it moves (Yikes!) it'll throw things off. Also, could your miter gauge and fence be rocking at all?

FG,
Bingo !!...I just got back from Woodcraft and brought the sample cut with me. After careful inspection John felt it might be the table insert. I came home and threw a starretts on it...wow...like the Grand Canyon...well, kinda anyway.
You guessed it without ever even seeing it... By the way, the Incra was real handy seting up my jig. ThanksExperience is a wonderful thing. It enables you see recognize a mistake when you make it again...
