There was an article that came close to this subject about 3 years ago in FWW. It was a guy from NBSS who came up with a slick way of cuting the compound joint on the table saw. In that same article he made dovetails in the compound mitered joint...sorry I can't remember the issue, but maybe a search in the article archive would help

One of Tage Fried's(sp) books on joinery covered this I believe. He takes the reader step by step through how to lay out the fingers. I have the book lying around here somewhere if you're interested I'll look up the specific title. Regardless if you want to read how he approaches the task or not, the book's well worth having in your library just for the sheer enjoyment of his writing style and dialogue.
