Hello everybody. I’m preparing to make a wooden chessboard but I want to put a very thin strip of like a brass lining in between the edge of the playing field and the frame around the playing field. Is there something I could buy to help keep the brass polished and shiny without damaging the wood in any way other than a layer of resin?
Thanks everybody. I’ll attach a pic of what I’m talking about.

Lacquer works well. It is also a good finish for the chessboard.
Thank you!
Yup. Lacquer has long been used to keep brass from tarnishing.
Thank you!
Spray lacquer. Find the stuff made by Deft, they have the best fan spray nozzle/tip out there. Also a "spray gun" trigger handle for the can helps with control.
Thank you!
