When I purchased tools from Bridge City Tool Works they came with a “Lifetime $5.00 Guarantee” whereby they would recalibrate, resquare or replace the tool for $5.00. I recently contacted the company and was told that would not honor the Lifetime Guarantee. They said while the company name, phone numbers etc. are the same they have a new owner who will not honor the guarantee…….BUYER BEWARE when dealing with this company.

Hey Larry,
Thanks for the heads up. I think their stuff is way overpriced, but I had a few things on the radar screen. Not anymore. That is ridiculous not to honor a warranty!

The brass finish also developed black blems and in some cases fell off. This happened on tools that were never used. They were on a cloth in my work bench draw.
"while the company name, phone numbers etc. are the same they have a new owner"
That's interesting. I haven't seen anything on a change at Bridge City. It may be worth a separate post requesting information on the status of the company.
Yeah,
Their website is different and only a few tools are listed.
Whatsgoingon?

"Their website is different and only a few tools are listed"Yes, the landing page looks different, but if you enter the site and click the online catalog, everything seems to be available.
Mike,
You're right! I missed that button. Thanks!

This is from their website today.

The Bridge City Tool Works charge $45.00 per year to become a Current Founders Circle Member. All it provides is the opportunity to pay $5.00 plus S&H to have the tool fixed ( Big Deal). Many of the tools I purchase d from them had the brass finish go bad. The tools had not been used, they were on a cloth in a draw.If they don't honor a Life Time Guarantee can a buyer trust their current
program. Keep in mind the $45.00 fee would not cover a quality issue after the 90 day period if the brass finish goes bad.
Whaddaya expect at those cut-rate prices...?(Never had a problem with my Starrett tools...)Glaucon
