I am planning on building a blanket chest, and am considering several options for hinges. The most attractive option so far are the larger (1 1/2″ legs) Brusso quadrant hinges. I was wondering if anyone has experience with these on blanket size chests. The top will be approximately 42″x20″x3/4″, and I am wondering if they will be beefy enough.
Thanks much…

I looked at those for a chest I made last month. They seemed like a neat idea, but I went with regular hinges (3"x2" brass from Lee Valley) combined with a flap stay. I also bought the concealed hinges for chests from LV (cat. no. 00H5401) but could not use them because my overlap was greater than 7/8". If I were making another chest with a smaller overlay, I would give these hinges a try.
