I have some old Buck Brother chisels and I would like to get some more info on their age. They have hex wooden handles. The all have the letter A followed by a number Example A- 21 etc. stamped on the handle. I can’t seem to find any info on them. Can anyone help me out here. Thanks.

Pictures?
Will do.
Here are some pics. This is just a few of what I have.
Carving tools. It's hard to date them. Buck has been around from about the Civil War to the present, and made carving tools from at least the 1880s to the 1960s.
They were usually sold unhandled for the most part, and handled from the 1930s on. Those in your pictures are almost certainly owner made handles.
I'm not sure what the numbers on the handles mean. It is not a sweep or a width, and might have made sense only to the owner. If you look on the metal, near the handle, there will be numbers stamped, which refers to the tool's sweep.
If I had to guess, I'd say those were 1890 to 1920, but that's just a guess. Buck made nice tools, but their carving tools are not as sought after as those from British makers.
Thanks for the reply.
