My wife really likes the computer desk shown in the current issue. I believe I have the skills to build it, I have built other pieces from FWW from articles with more detail in them, but I am not very good at putting together a cut list from a article like this so I know how much lumber I need. Any suggestions on how to do this? I can see I would make some changes to the assembly, but not enough to change the overall appearance of the desk. Thanks in advance. Rick

Rick,
If you have access to a computer with even a simple drawing program, and you are capable of using it, this is the way to go. The traditional method is to do a scale drawing and total up the board feet. Add about 20% for spares and goofs--more if you have poor lumber to begin with. Good luck!
