Hi; Somewhere i remember reading an article about building
a waraparound table to increase the surface size of a bandsaw.
I cannot locate any information or plans for such. Does anyone
have any advice. Thanks, Paul

Lots of different plans in the various magazines, historically speaking. Building the table isn't particularly difficult -- just need a frame that surrounds your iron table and fasten the top to that, have a blade slot, hardwood edging if you like. There are usually pre-made bolt-holes in the iron table that you can use.
The tricky part will be if you want to make an adjustable fence, circle gidget, stuff like that. What kind of sawing do you anticipate doing? Lots of resawing logs? Large curves? Big circles? etc., etc.

Hi;
Thanks for the advice. I anticipate doing some resawing and
have a circle jig, adjustable fence etc. I guess I figured
a larger table surface would make working easier.
cheers,
Paul
Hi again Paul. I have yet to build a table for my 14" band saw, but the plan I intend to use, and like the best, is in American WWer, August 2000, pg. 104 and 103. It provides for an expanded table of about 2'x2' plus a removable extension of the same size that can attach either to the side or to the outfeed end, with an adjustable leg for support to the floor. The fence is adjustable for blade drift. The table is straightforward to make and looks very sturdy and user-friendly. It would be easy enough to provide for a circle-cutting feature.

As FG has mentioned it depends on what your needs will be. Mark Duginski's book on bandsaws I believe gives details for various tables. I built an outfeed extension bench which also houses my powermatic mortiser. here's a link... http://www.jwsjoinery.com/theshop/11.htm
Hope this helps

Thanks Bill. I have Mark Duginske's Band Saw Handbook but was
unable to find any plans or suggestions on tables, but I'll track
something down.

Thanks Curtis.

I found the mag and, in addition to sending Paul the scans, I put them on my FTP site, so anyone who wants to see, click below. If you're on dial-up access, it's going to take awhile to download, especially the second scan. Just to document, the plans are in Amer. WWer, #81, August 2000. They were a "reader's tip" sorta thing.
