I am building a small bench using a Roubo/French style of frame with modern vises out of green wood using hand tools. Just got started on the top, jointing the front and back edges. Just a quick tip: never leave your shaving sharp restored Stanley No. 5 sole down on a green wood bench top for a couple of days. Now I have to get a lot of rust freckles off before I get back to work.
PS Don’t leave your No 7 there either.
