I wasn’t sure hwere to post ti question. I want to build my own decorative range hood using a prefab hood liner. I’d like to build it with plywood and plaster the exterior. Any suggestion on where to find plans, ideas, etc.?
Thanks.

I doubt you will find any plans. They would be specific to the hood "guts" you choose. As for ideas, just look for similar setups in books and mags. The library is a good starting poing. I'm a bit puzzled about your idea using plywood and plastering, though. Plaster won't stick to ply. You would need to cover the ply with blueboard or wire lath. And, plastering is definitely an art. Also, you may regret this decision later. The hood is probably the biggest grease magnet in a kitchen and needs frequent cleaning -- even the outer surfaces. Plaster would not be too cleaning-friendly. Tile might be a better choice. You also might want to try this topic out in Breaktime, which is more geared to this type of question. Good luck!
