In my ongoing restoration project, I am now at the point of building screens for our double hung windows (34 of them). Nominal screen size is 36″ x 60″. I will be using 1″x 1 1/2″ for top rail, center mullion, and both side stiles. Will use 1″ x 2 1/2″ for the bottom rail. All wood is pressure treated pine, kiln dried after treating so it is dry and (hopefully) stable. I will be using half-lap joints, each glued and dowelled through the joint (two dowels per joint). This is my first attempt at building screens. So my questions are: (1) is this a reasonable construction approach, and (2) what glue should I use? I am leaning towards gorilla glue. Thanks, Harold

Good luck on using PT lumber for trim. I air dried PT for two years, thought it was straight and stable, and had some of the most twisted and warped rips I've ever had. Wound up not using it after all that TLC even though I thought I had the perfect solution to an exterior trim job.
Never had much luck with PT as far as stability. Might try this post on Fine Home Building. Always considered this forum a companion to FWW and more furniture oriented.
