I’m finishing doors and windows with “classical” craftsman. I think… anyways, I have this window I’ve been staring at where the bulkhead is in the way of a full head casing. Looking for suggestions. I could do a 1.75 butt casing all the way around but seems too small to look correct. Just take a notch out of the header and also wonder that it doesn’t look correct?
I’ve attached pic of trouble window and pic of easy window. Thank you

You really don't have much of a choice. Stay with a consistent look to the window casing, take the notch out as required and don't think about it anymore. Doing something different on one window will look more out of place than a notch in the casing.
This looks like it's in a bathroom, and the only window? I'd probably use the same trim, andjust notch the corner.
I might think about no trim in a tiny room. Just flush the jamb and plaster all around, and have a nice clean look. It can work in a small bathroom. Actually looks less crowded.
I definitely would not use skinning trim. I hate skinny trim.
Yes, in a bathroom and the only window. Good point on looking less crowded with no trim! I guess I'm not out anything if I tack up the same trim and see what it looks like. Will report back lol
This won't win any awards but I'll go with it. Wall and trim will be all same paint color and might blend away a little.
