as a carpenter when I mean guns, I am usually refering to framing, finish and spray guns. the guys at car toys were a little confused. By the way, i went to woodcraft, they have the 4 stage turbanaire turbine spray system for over 800 bucks. I got the fuji minimite 4 stage for under 250 on Amazon. it is on sale. I spent a lot of time building a side table. but the staining did not go well. I is not possible to stain and finish a relatively large piece with a brush or a rag.

I can relate. As a finisher/painter when I say gun I'm talking about a spray gun. A year or so ago when I bought my newest gun, a Sata gravity gun, I was pretty pleased with the deal I got ($330 in the box) and later that evening I announced to my girlfriend that I'd just bought a gun. Being a good liberal she's not really big on firearms and man you should have seen the look on her face!!! OMG! She looked just totally crestfallen. You'd think I'd just killed her favorite pet or something. LOL it was pretty funny. I quickly realized the misunderstanding and pointed out that I'd just bought a SPRAY gun. LOL
I just read a great review on the Minimite 4 on Woodcentral. Have you had a chance to use it yet? How does it perform?

I'm going to try to insert the url on this note for the review - I've never done that before - try going to http://woodcentral.com/cgi-bin/readarticle.pl?dir=newarticles&file=articles_791.shtml
Wow! You also got a great deal at $250. It's now $679 on Amazon.

No MIke, I just ordered a few days ago. I was talking to someone at Woodcraft, and he said there are problems with water with conversion guns. He recommended Fuji. Came back home and saw it on Amazon. The rest as they say it is history.... The Minimite is supposssed to be really loud. They sell the pro models, that are more expensive. But if you check amazon regularly, you would be surprised by what you might find. Putting things on your wish list and checking back later when the price of something goes down, Amazon alerts you. I am sure that it will work great.
Well, I figured out how to set up a wish list in Amazon.com, but I couldn't find the instructions for having them contact me when there is a sale, unless I placed the item on order for a used one at a given price. Is there a way to do this in the wish list?
Mike D
Well, It just occurred to me that putting things in your wish list will probably not update the most recent price on Amazon. you need to put it in your cart and then buy it later. That way they know that you are considering to buy something. By the way, I am a prime member on Amazon. I usually receive my shipments in 3 to 4 days. Today, a carpenter did not know that what a frost line is. there was a lot of confusion about shear walls and some not done properly. There is a book called the IRC out there. I am writing this just for anyone reading this.
I purchased the Fuji 4 from Amazon also. Great LPHV unit. I have finished several sets of cabinets with it. Does a fine job and it is easy to set up and take down and clean. I have also used it with a spray-on stain by Parker Paints. I am really satisfied with it. If you don't already have it, here is a web site for you: http://www.hvlp.net/webstore.htm
Give it a try.
