Can anybody from North Jersey recommend a good dealer. (Lol).
I usually go to Boards and Beams in Fairfield. I’m sick of their attitude in the yard. And I need some good pine for prototypes and they don’t have very good 8/4.
Im 20 miles West of Manhattan. Trying to find somewhere fairly close.

If nothing closer is recommended, Condon Lumber right off 287 in White Plains, NY (a few miles past the Tappan Zee) is excellent for both lumber and plywood.
Thanks. That’s not too bad of a ride. But closer would be better.
Second vote for Condon, and don't forget to hit the "scrap" bins in the far shed. I bought from a dealer called Blue Line Hardwoods up in Long Lake (now closed) and the owner Brian told me his main operation was in NJ. The google might know where he is. The upstate NY operation was top notch.
I also use Condon. The guys in the yard are better than most other dealers.
Fun game to play: try to get the ladies up in the office to smile. Nearly impossible!
Lol. Must be an area wide issue.

I bought REAL 8/4 mahogany back in 2000 for my front door, and the cutoffs are still flat and square!
I go there all the time, they are super nice and helpful. I just throw them a tip every time I go. The people in the office are pretty nice for the most part. They always ask me for photos of my projects. Patients and a smile goes a long way there.
