Hi everyone – I noticed a vertical crack (or split) on my pantry cabinet where two pieces come together. I’ve attached two photos of the crack and one photo from underneath. You can see from the underneath photo that the shelf seems to be glued to the second piece. I can’t tell whether that second piece is just decorative (and the shelf is otherwise attached), or if it’s weight bearing for the shelf. Any thoughts on whether this is a structural concern or just aesthetic? If it’s just aesthetic I can color it in with a furniture marker. Thanks for any thoughts!

Looks to me like a VERY thin veneer sheet was laid on th whole thing and razored out to fold around the edges, kind of like a wrap on a car. I would do what you can to make it less visible and call it good.
If you want to monitor it for movement glue a paper strip across the inside and watch to see if it ripples. Don't use tape, the adhesive is too flexible.
Great advice, I really appreciate it!
