I have been a hobbyist woodworker for most of my life, but only recently became active in the Knots forum, lots of good info and ideas. I have seen several references to “the cafe” but have no idea what it is. Seems like it must be a more casual web forum for woodworkers but how do you get there? I recently took a bad fall and broke my femur, I’ll be bedridden for a while yet and out of the shop, could use another outlet for my time on the computer to keep me entertained.

Hi I'm over here from Breaktime, and saw your post..I think now you have to request access to the Cafe from the Sysop..click on the customer service tab up at the top of the page and send them an email requesting access.....
Sorry to hear about your accident, and hope you recover soon
..if you feel like it ,cruise over to Breaktime it's mostly builders, contractors and slugs like me!
come on over and join the fray ....... just click on the tab above Customer Service.
.
OOOPs just so you know, the Cafe is where all the off topic conversations take place like Political, World events, the government ......whatever so while you're at it request access to the Breaktime Tavern when you ask for the Cafe.......
.
., wer ist jetzt der Idiot ?

Maddog is right, woodwish. You have to ask for admission. It might be Monday before Sysop sees your post. Nothing goes on there, though. It has the least number of posts. No alcohol, no music, no arguments, no fights, no babes, boring. I've been to more exciting poetry readings. Go and stir something up besides a decaf latte'. Hope you heal up fast.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
There's a thread somewhere for asking for access, but who knows where at this point. Just drop a note to [email protected] and Matt or Mark will turn the switch on for you. Once they've given you access, the Cafe will show up in the folders list (along with Power Tools, General Discussion, etc.)
Dear Woodwish,
Cafe access granted.
