I’m looking for a good supplier of some of the local hardwoods. I’ve used madrone, tanoak, california bay (myrtlewood), big leaf maple, and local walnut from the CalOak sawmill in Oroville. Sadly, the lumber part of their business is gone and I can’t find a good sawyer. Anyone know of one in Northern Cal?

Hi Mike, There is a great guy, Warren Wise who operates "The Woodsman" hardwood supply on Alpine Rd in Stockton (on the outskirts). He specializes in local Walnut but has a good supply of lots of other stuff. Take a walk thru his place. The "drool factor" is pretty high. Be warned. His address is 2701 N. Alpine Rd, Stockton (dont have zip,u can try 95202,It'll get ,there or cal him at (209) 931-3293. Brian.
