I would like to build a writing desk in the British Campaign Furniture style. I have a picture of a desk from page 132 of “British Campaign Furtiture…” by Nicholas Brewer, but I need additional interior details or a plan.
Can anyone out there help with information or a source reference?

I've seen at least one in Fine Woodworking. I can't remember if it had complete plans, but I do remember that it had some detail drawings. Do a search in the article index on the magazine home page.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried the index, but didn't find anything.
The one I was remembering was in FWW #76. If your library doesn't have a copy or can't get it through interlibrary loan, you may be able to buy a copy on eBay. Issue numbers that high are usually pretty cheap.
Uncle Dunc,
That is a nice chest, but not what I'm looking for. The desk that I seek would be a box about 12x16x10 that opens into a slanted top writing desk with internal storage and drawer.
I will keep that chest in mind for the future.
Thanks, Jim
Hi Dunc!
Great name. There's a nice set at http://www.WoodcraftPlans.com

I just looked it up in the book. It is a wonderful desk, isn't it? My main concern would be that lots of specialty hardware is required, not the design of the joinery. It looks like a pretty straight-forward design. Just notice that there is a drawer on each side, the desk is reversed between the top and bottom photos. Notice also the fine dovetails on the drawer shown. The only way to cut these is by hand. If you would like to discuss it further, shoot me an email at lendawg1@vision1mm.com , and together, we could probably figure out a good design.
Take Care,
Donald
