While I really may BE going crazy, I spent more time than I should have searching the files of breaktime trying to find a thread on how to square up a saw. I know that someone went through this procedure, or had a link that detailed a very thorough technique for refining square down to a very small margin of error. Is there anyone who has seen this or knows to what I am referring? It was more than just lining up the sled, or whatever to the square. I hope someone has seen this. THanks.!

I haven't seen it, but there are two things to do:
1. Make sure the blade is at a 90 degree angle to the table. To check this, I get two pieces of 8/4 hardwood which have been milled so that one face is flat and one side is jointed and at a reasonably close approximation of 90 degrees to that face. Cut both pieces using your crosscut sled and where the flat face is down and the jointed side is against the fence, and where both pieces are cut from the same side of the blade. Now take the sled off the table. Place both pieces on the table saw top, flat face down, so that the newly cut ends abut one another. Put a light behind them and see if the faces are truly even. If the cuts are not exactly 90 degrees you'll see light at the top or the bottom. This is the error. Readjust the blade until this is fixed.
2. Now to check for a 90 degree cut as you crosscut a 12 inch wide (for example) piece of hardwood. Again, take two pieces of hardwood which are flat on one face and have a jointed edge. They can be 4/4 for this test. Crosscut both of them from the same side of the blade. Again, remove the sled and place both pieces on the table saw top, but with the jointed edge down, and the cut edge abutting. Put a light behind them. You'll see light at the top or bottom if the cut isn't 90 degrees. If the cut is off, the error needs to be corrected on your cutoff sled by moving the fixed fence on the side next to you.
These tests are much more accurate than using metal squares.
