Hi all,
Good to be here. I am new to woodturning and recently purchased a Powermatic 3520C lathe. I bought it to turn large, green logs for my business. For the most part, I’ll be making very large candle holders. Can I use the stock 1″, 4 tooth spur center to turn logs as heavy as 70 pounds?
Any information is greatly appreciated.

You can try it but its very likely to spin free as you start removing wood. You will get a better grab with a screw chuck backed with a face plate .
That's what I'll do then. Thanks Gulfstar.
