Hello:
I have seen many posts about band saw blades. I haven’t seen any discussion about carbide tipped band saw blades. Anyone have any experience using these blades on a 17″ bandsaw? I have heard the relatively tight radius of the 17″ wheels shortens the life of the blade. This would make it a very expensive proposition. Therefore, I am doing homework before I spend the big $$.
Any and all feedback is appreciated.
Michael

Unless plate thickness is significantly greater than your existing blades, there should not be a problem.
As this is a formed tooth blade (with ground side clearance and a tooth that is cutting the entire kerf) you should get a smoother and more accurate cut. This could amount to tighter tolerances (less sanding or jointer clean-up) which will save both labor and materials. You should try to figure these costs into the price differential for the blade.
