Dear all,
I recently posted looking for a Chris Pye book called “Carving on Turning”. I kept wondering why guys were coming back with “cheeky” retorts about Porn magazines. What’s with these guys, I thought, and I knoew they were guys; no lady would be so crude and rude. Now, a week later, I see that what I posted was a request for the book, “Turning on Wood”. I wonder if Dr. Freud would say something about that? I mean, I do enjoy my work, and have heard all the jokes about knot holes, but that is really pretty funny.
So anyway…does anybody have a copy of “Carving ON Turning” by Chris Pye?????
TIA,
Michael
PS Careful of the splinters!

If you don't find the book, is there something that you would like to know? I do a fair amount of that, and might be able to answer some questions for you.
Here is a sample of some of my work.
Hello rootburl,
I just opened the jpg. you sent and yelled out "Oh m'Gawd!" and my wife came runing to ask what the matter was! YOur work is absolutely beautiful and, to say the least, inspiring.
Simply put, I am doing a lot of antique restoration but my business, http://www.michaelscarboroughdesign.com seems to be moving more into the field of desining/building of furniture in historical styles. So, I have determined to take my carving to a higher level and have also just now gotten a lathe. More and more, however, I am finding a new desire to do work of a more creative nature. (and your work certainly comes under that heading.) So, I would like to get my hands on the Pye book, as I find his books to be straightforward and helpful, and just want to see what he has to say on the matter of combining both disciplines.
As far as your work goes, WHERE DO I BEGIN? Let me get myself settled in and comfortable with the new lathe, then I'll pick your brain!
Thanks,
Michael
