Hey everyone,
I’m stuck here at fort hood texas, in the killeen area and i’m looking for a wood supplier that’s not going to bend me over backwards for some walnut, cherry, or maple. I’ve spent some time making a few tables out of pine just to get the hang of it, and i figure it’s time to spend some money on some nice lumber to make a nice table. Any texans out there know where i can look? thanks

LTK,
You might try out Fine Lumber and Plywood. They are located north of Austin at 9407 Brown Lane (512.836.8990). They have a large inventory of rough and milled hardwood lumber and plywood. I can't say their prices are exorbitant, taking into account Central Texas isn't exactly located in the middle of a handwood forest. If they discontinued business, I wouldn't have a clue where else to look around here without getting bent over backwards.
I would second Fine Lumber and Plywood in Austin. Been awhile since I lived over that way but they were always great to work with and had decent prices.
