I have been woodworking for only about four years, but I have gone in head first since day one. I consume everything I can about woodworking. Because of my day job, I listen to a LOT of podcasts. I listen to every Shop Talk Live and have for years. I listen to Mortise and Tenon’s podcast, I listen to Matt Kenny’s new podcast and I dip into some of the more independent ones pretty often.
Recently I’ve moved from exclusively flat work into the world of chair making (Thanks Peter Galbert) and I find it to be an even SMALLER world. I don’t have any friends who woodwork seriously and I am in my mid 20’s so I often am surrounding myself with folks at least two generations older than me. I have no problem with that! That being said, I look to podcasts to vicariously engage in discussions. Is there a good chair making podcast? Any advice for a younger guy (that does not live on the east coast) in engaging in discussions?
