I am building some doors for a house we are working on out of reclaimed barn lumber from the barn we restored on the property.
The doors are finished with Briwax and the owner has decided he wants the doors to have the natural gray color for the finish after he had us use the “Antique mahagony” wax (applied over one coat of clear wax).
We used mineral spirits like the manufacturer said to remove the existing wax and that helped lighten the finish but didn’t remove the color completely from the finish.
Does anyone know if there is a dye or some other product we can apply over the wax to change the color?

A little elbow grease, applied with copious mineral spirits will eventually dissolve all the wax. You will need multiple cloths so you aren't just smearing it around, tough getting the last bit of pigment out of crevises and pores could be tough. And, this is a good opportunity for the client to realize that change orders buy new trucks.
Wondered why you were drivin that F450 Steve.... and me still on my bicycle....

Best wax remover is ammonia, esp the stinky old ammonia we used to have for blueprints.
BE careful about the ammonia raising grain.
