I am one of those folks who has every issue of FWW & FHB, but I have never visited the forum. Does anyone have a mail order source for potassium dichromate? I have finally exhausted my supply, and need to replace it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. rick

I just did a Google search for potassium dichromate and got several hits that looked like pages for ordering it. Also got a bunch of MSDS pages, at least some of which I would expect to lead back to vendors.
Rick,
You may have trouble getting it because of the toxic nature of the chromium. Try Jeff Jewitt's company Homested Finishes.

I've gotten my potassium dichromate from Photographer's Formulary in Condon, MT. Their phone number is 1-800-922-5255 and their website is http://www.photoformulary.com. Last price I have is $15.95/lb.
Since you are replacing a supply, I assume you are aware of the hazards and know how to handle it safely. If not either don't use it or get some information on safe handling and disposal practices. It is not stuff to fool around with. Sorry if the above caution insulted you; I don't intend to but can't, in good conscience, let a safety caution go unsaid.
