Cherry handle on Ken Kutter Saw?

I’m toying with the idea to rebuild the horn on this panel saw.
Is this cherry? I have not worked with cherry before and can’t say for sure.

It's most likely apple.

I noticed the handle was surprisingly light. The same material in Oak would make a twice as heavy handle.

I ended up using what I believe to be Padauk, and it looks nice.
