I believe I recall an article in FWW about construction of a blanket chest made with frame-and-panel construction of cherry (for the rails and stiles) and birdseye maple (for the panels). For the life of me, I cannot figure out which issue it was in. Does this ring a bell for anybody?

re: the cherry blanket chest
Try a search on the FWW site.
But I find the search engine more problematic than it seemed to be a few years ago. I type in a word and 1200 articles are listed.
cherry+blanket +chest 0 articles
cherry +chest 0 articles
chest 141 articles
Taunton's house is now like my kid's room. It's in there--somewhere.
The Search help FAQs are typical circular logic lazy computer consultant-eze: lots of verbiage that says nothing of value or the simple truth-you can't do a proper search.
Here's my two cents on the taunton site.
It seems way too corporate now. Go three levels deep and it's asking for a credit card.
The search engine seems to come up with more random noise than anything else (In this regard its more like Amazon.com and less like google. not a good thing IMHO)
I'm building a kayak and involved in kayak chat groups. After 20 years of reading FWW and FHB I want to refer them to FWW for many of the problems they're having. But there's nothing to refer them to-a subscription form? There used to be a great couple of pages on glass sandpaper sharpening. Now its only for sale. I'll bet many of them would subscribe if they could see how great FWW is-but they can't unless they pay first.
If I happen to come across the blanket chest articles I'll let you know.

Thanks all -- that was it! I was looking too far back in time (if that's a sentence that makes any sense) :-)
