Can anyone suggest a good site to find high quality furniture plans? I’ve spent months searching the net but most of what I’ve found lacks the “wow” factor. I’m not confident enough in my ability to design a piece from scratch. Is anyone here willing to draw up plans for a fee? My wife wants a cabinet like this.
I’m sure someone with more experience could take a few measurements and recreate this. I’m simply not there yet w/ my joinery knowledge. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
Joel

Hello Joel,
Did you visit The New Yankee Workshop's site? The cupboard section of their plans might have something you like: http://http://www.newyankee.com/getcategory3.cgi?Cupboards. The "breakfront cabinet" looks similar to what your wife is looking for except for the "breakfront" aspect. Purchasing the video might give you the confidence you are looking for with regards to your joinery knowledge. I purchased only one set of plans from them before and was very satisfied with what I got.
Hope this helps,
Senomozi

I am about to undertake a similar project. Have you had any luck locating some plans for a hutch?

Not at all. I think the "plans" message board doesn't get a lot of attention. I would really like to pay someone to provide me with plans to replicate a piece I found at Crate & Barrel. Let me know if you have any luck.

Joel, I might be able to come up with a SketchUp-based plan from a picture or two. E-mail me.
