What is the deal with clamping times assuming your using a PVA? I know what the bottle of titebond says, but what really happens if the clamps are left on for say 10 or 12 hrs.? My no cars allowed garage/shop is usually fairly warm sometimes hot in the summer. Does leaving pieces clamped for an extended period of time adversly affect the glue joint?

Leaving the clamps on too long hurts nothing. I like to leave the clamps on for 24 hrs if possible.
Tzach,
As Mike indicated, more time hurts nothing. There is a chart somewhere that indicates the time/strength ratio. It is based on final strength, so for instance, something like 90% of final strength is attained after 2 hours and 100% after 24 hours. Most of us want to reuse the clamps for something else and therefore remove before the 24 hours is up...it still continues to cure...
If I glue up on a weekday (late afternoon, evening, or night) the clamps always stay on about 24 hours. Friday night and Saturday glue ups usally come off the next morning (or afternoon if I'm a lazy sap).

Thanks for the information! Just seems I had heard of removing clamps sooner in hot weather... I dont even recall if there was a reason. Anyways I guess I will continue the way Ive been doing it . Thanks to all.
In warm weather I remove glue-ups after about 2 hours. This not only frees up clamps, but will allow your to remove squeeze-out with a scraper before it reaches full hardness. Just don't stress the joints.
Thanks for the advice Tom, I do this also due to the lack of clamps I have. If there is a good excuse to tell the wife why I should own more bessey k bodys someone let me know! Thanks.
Tell the wife clamping time is 72 hours. I gotta buy more clamps honey!
72 hrs! Amateur, Two weeks in this shop! Have to get a whole new set of clamps for each glue up. Justus Koshiol

But Honey, Look! This project requires 36" clamps, those are 24" and those are 48"!
And I'm certain this needs an 8 clamp glue up.
Enjoy, Roy
