Hi All,
The movable jaw / swivel jaw on some of my clamps are failing. The jaw is popping off the little nub. I can press them back on, only to have them pop off again. I tried heating the jaw up with a torch and clamping down with needle-nose pliers, but that didn’t work.
Any tips, tricks, or magic that you might have to keep the jaw from falling off? Of course this normally happens in the middle of a glue up!

Hello,
If the nub is worn or broken, replacing the jaw might be the best solution. You have temporary solution is, apply a small amount healthinsurancemarket of epoxy around the nub and reattach the jaw. Clamp it tightly with another clamp for drying. This is temporary fix, but can get you through your glue-up.
I hope the solution may help you.
I've tried tapping with a hammer and that works for a while. Epoxied they wont swivel which limits their usefulness. I buy new ones and save broken ones to do terrible things to.
Every creature gets to take so many breaths... those are done. It looks like you got your money's worth.
Thanks, all. I appreciate the responses. I might try and order a replacement swivel, but these fall right in the middle of a gap in sizes.
You could throw a couple of tack welds on it and file it down until it's round and snug again.
It is pretty painstaking and time-intensive for a clamp.
I'd bid them farewell.
Flat bar "f" clamp like that. Bessey $11, Jorgensen 2 fo$20 from Amazon, Harbor Freight $ 6.99. Temu even less.....
It seems to me you could peen over the metal to get it to stay on. It just needs to be slightly less in diameter than the ball.
