I’ve got a bunch of Bessey K-Body clamps that have accumulated a lot of hardened glue drips over the years, much of it in the grooved parts of the bar where they can’t just be scraped. Is there any way to give them a thorough cleaning?

If I read this correctly, the glue is on the metal bar. In that case grab your propane torch and heat up the glue drips, they'll pop right off then with a little help from a sharp putty knife or similar implement of destruction.

That's a great tip Jim. I've never considred that but I can imagine it works great. Having given up on a few good clamps because of dried glue globs, I've become pretty anal about cleaning the glue off clamps as soon as I notice it. Maybe now I can relax a bit.
I ran into this problem very early in my woodbutchering endevours. I remember reading that PVA glues are thermoplastic and I knew that a propane torch wasn't going cause any harm, so I gave it a try. Worked beautifully. It's even worked for some old wood Jorgies I picked up for pennies at a garage sale. You just have be a little lighter on the torch. :)Jim
