Hi all my name is Buck ive ben doing custom woodwork for 10 years.
Heres my problem… Avery good friend lost her home to fire this Jan
today I took all the salvageable furniture out.. I took out her solid maple bedroom sets ( 2 ) Ther totally covered with soot . No water damage just soot and its on there.. Any help on what i can do to clean tem up would be great..
I thought about soap and water . She was particular about polishing them so i think the wood is pretty well preserved..
Thanx BUCK

Having helped numerous people with the same problem, here's our tip...we always use TSP (Trisodium Phosphate). We only use the Savogran brand. It can be found in hardware stores/lumberyards. Follow the instructions on the back.
