Thank you all! For taking jobs and money from “clients” before you even know what to do or how to do it. This allows me to charge double to come in and fix your slapped up and cobbled jobs! Just one more thing, dont use so much glue from here on out…it increases my dismantling time by 2 minutes and that tends to piss me off …really …bad… .

I pity your poor dog.
Bravo Run4wood. I certainly agree that if anybody does something different than me its wrong. I recently tore apart a Frank Loyd Wright home because he obviously didn't know anything about design. The customer was very happy with the results and really enjoys his new dog house/rabbit pen. By the way my net on the job was 50.00 but the attorney fees I spent trying to collect it were 10,000.00. I kind of took a bath on it but what the heck when I was done it was finally right.
Obviously this is a ficticous story but when I have no clue why people say the things they do, I feel compeled to reply in the same manner.

Run4Wood, I moved your "discussion" to this folder (Business) because you had posted it in the wrong place. Easy to do, that's no big deal.
The big deal will be to see if you can come to this forum with less of a chip on your shoulder and offer your advice. That's what this forum is all about.
If you can do that, you're welcome here.

Bravo, Tim. Give some folks a place to speak and they'll yell every time.

Tim, was my response out of line ?Steve - in Northern California
Wow, ..Steve why would you be out of line? You seem like a level minded guy from what I have read from your posts. As far as what the moderator said about Run4wood having a chip on his shoulder, I dont know. Sounds like real life pressures on the job are getting to him. But really thow, how many of us have had to go back and correct mistakes and alter something to fit? If you have been around for awhile you know what this is all about. Anyway, some of the threads are a little simple. Pike
Steve,
Definitely not! Thanks for posting.

Runforwood, you might want to take a look at the furniture that the people in this forum build. it's not the type of furniture that will need to be repaired any time soon.
Who ate the sugar off of your buns? Give us an insight on what you are talking about before you come in here screaming at us. Thanks

I've heard of waking up on the wrong side of the bed, but this dude must've fallen out and whacked his noggin on somthin' -- he's mad! (and sad, sorry to say).forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
f_g, howz it! Hey I think this guy's just mad because he broke another sawzall demo blade. Actually, I think its a plant by Tim to put some excitement back in this place. Its working....

Hiya Steve! Over at AuctionWatch, when I used to belong before they started requiring credit cards just to post a message, we used to call these messages "trolling." As in trolling bait to see who/what would bite. Therefore, the posters were called Trolls.
It's been fun anyway! Oooops, forgot to feed the Flying Squirrels tonight, gotta run. Later!

FG, you're absolutely right. In the couple of years since I started getting onto the various Taunton Forums, I've noticed that every few months or so someone gets a bug up their bum, makes up a one-time nickname, posts an obnoxious note that gets people buzzing, and then disappears from the ether without a response.
Only this time, instead of getting people all bent out of shape, Runs4Wood just gave us a good laugh. Please don't tell me we're all getting a sense of humor!
DavidHmmm... the garden or the workshop today?
View Image Tim, Im sorry..I thought this was the "taunt them" press. Catch me if you can!
Run4wood,
Thanks for the post--but put some clothes on that runner! <g>

Tim, how about just a loin cloth? Thanks for the laughs you guys!! That was really my intent :) Ill behave ..someday.
Run4, I know you've never visited one of my jobs. I don't make anything that a lassoo wielding type would ever need to visit and hashbash at. Sorry. You'll just have to follow behind the cowboys, and I hope that not all of their horses suffer from chronic flatulence. Slainte, RJ.
Are you referring to a specific person or job that you feel somebody did poor work on? If so, why not contact that person directly (or just let a sleeping dog lie)? Is there something to gain by lashing out in general?

BWAAAAHAHAHAH!!!!!
You're most welcome, Run4wood.....Just to piss you off more, I've decided to use epoxy for my glue ups. :-)
Dano
Hey Dano, I think Tim planted this one just to get us back to our old selves again. ROFLOL.... By the way, epoxy doesn't give you much time to work, use Gorilla Glue instead, its just as nasty. To complement the Gorilla Glue, I'm backing everything up with cheap wood screws and intentionally striping the heads by using a driver bit that is too small. I have that technique down pat now. I should probably dip the screws in Gorilla Glue too. That would really make them hold.
The way I figure it, if I do all these things the job will be sure to be bad and whoever they are would have to use a chain saw to dismantle it. I know that would impress me if I was the one who hired them to fix someone elses work.
Have a good one !

Steve,
I like your idea about the screws....I was thinking that 16d sinkers might make this yahoo's day as well. The other thought I had was to use J-B Weld, Model T coils, and hidden wire to the hardware........zzzzzzzzzztttttttttt!
Dano"Form and Function are One" - Frank L. Wright
ROFLOL ---- Dano, I think anything we did to slow him down would probably not work all that well. Heck if epoxy only slows him by two minutes then he's obviously using a chain saw for the rough outs and one of those new Milwakee Sawzall dovetail saws, (with the ripout blade), for the finer work. Although, 3" titanium galvy's might prove to be a worthy apponent.
Speaking of JB Weld, have you tried that concrete to wood epoxy they've got. I just used it to set trestle mounts in the bottom of a 150lb marble top for a table that I'm making. That stuff setup in about a 15 minutes and was ready for action in about a half hour. I am impressed.

Steve,
Dano's response was hilarious! But no, I didn't plant this one, but you're giving me ideas... :-)
