   i thought  i would send a pic showing my latest piece to give folks an idea of how bad or good i am. is the tall case clock out of my league?

   Only if you dont try is something out of your league.By the way nice hutch, I like the legs.

   bob,

   I'm pretty sure that Carlyle Lynch drew up a set of plans for a simple tall case clock.  The plans are advertised in the back of FWW in the claasified section.  I've seen them on line but cannot recall where.

   Try making some simple boxes maybe 4" square out of scrap hardwood using dovetails. After 3 or 4 tries, you'll be able to decide whether it's something you can pull off, or out of your league.
