Coffee Table w/ Lifting Top—Hardware Recs?
Hi all,
I am building a coffee table for a client that will have a top that lifts and stays in place for working (see attached pic for example). Does anyone have any experience / recommendations for quality hardware? There are several options I’ve found online, but many with mixed reviews. It would be tough to know which one has the best functionality without buying several and testing. Thanks!

Selby Furniture Hardware makes a solid one but they are wholesale only. I think Rockler carries some of the line.
Thanks for the heads up!
Hafele has a thing( well actually just about everything) but a thing called a tavoflex that lifts a table top. There might be other stuff they sell that does that as well.
Thanks!
I haven't used Selby's table hardware but I used their bed hardware with outstanding results. Selby will sell retail, they have a store in The Bronx. 321 Rider Ave, Bronx, NY 10451. Give them a call, really nice people!
I used the same hardware... and arrived at about the same design for the lower boxes too!

Thanks!
I just built one like you are looking at. My experience was to use a lift mechanism that is 1 piece. I used a 2 piece lift, which allowed the top to come up crooked.
Thanks for sharing your exxperience
