I am looking to build a coffee table for my house. The Mrs. would like the coffee table to be more like a “low” dresser. She would like drawers in it. She wants one big drawer to store a blanket and then some smaller drawers to store magazines/remotes etc. Anyone know of any plans or ideas out there?
Cheers!

In my mind, I'm seeing the big drawer designed to look like several small drawers (false drawer lines and knobs) so when you look at the table, it looks like there are, say, 3 columns of small drawers, rather than one big drawer and two sets of small drawers.

fg,
Yes, that is exactly what the Mrs. would like.
Any photos or plans?

Ah, I see. The blanket drawer isn't as big as I was imagining. Have fun!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
I can draw up some designs for you DM. It's not too hard. You work out what the piece has to do, where aesthetically it fits into the whole plan of the location, house, office, etc., and design from the inside out so to speak.
In your case you want to make a coffee table--- but your wife wants a storage unit which sounds more like a chest of drawers or a kist.
Somewhere you have to decide what function is more important-- storage, or coffee table? Once you've worked that out then you can design an appropriate piece.
Cookie cutter plans for what you say you're after just don't exist. You have to sort out the design necessities-- the brief-- first. Go from there. Slainte.
I just noticed your post and I'm in the market to make something similar. Check out these I found on the web. He's got .pdf files for both coffee table and matching end tables.
