I recently sent three 10″ table saw blades to Forrest for sharpening, among them a 10″ W.Worker II, and two sixty teeth crosscut also 10″.
I was quire surprise that they now charge 22 dollars per blade, plus two way shipping.
That sound to me quite pricey. Could any one suggest alternatives? . Woodworking is not my profession, so I cannot justify such an expense as the cost of doing business.
Thank you in advance

You might want to check in your local area for a professional sharpening shop.
Asking some of the local cabinet shops where they get their blades sharpened might be productive, as may be enquiries at a tool supplier.
I use a local service here in the Roanoke area, Jameson's, who do an excellent job, one week turnaround. IIRC, it ran me somewhere in the neighbourhood of $15 - 20 per blade.
John... You can get blades sharpened cheaply, you can get blades sharpened CORRECTLY. You can only have ONE of the two options.
I'm paying $15 - $18 for a very average sharpening job. Not great, just average. Half of these 'grinder-monkeys' do not know how to properly set up the blade in the sharpening machine. Some of them 'do me a favor' by 'vibro-graving' my name onto the blade. (No thanks, I don't want my name engraved onto the blade) And YES, there is a right way and a wrong way to place the blade in the grinding machine. I had two great guys here in NY. One retired, one sold his business. I've tried several places with no luck. Gotta keep looking. So... bottom line.... Forrest DOES them right.. Yea, it's an expense, but splintered exit cuts and random tear-outs are more expensive.

Steve is right, You have some nice blades. Don't scimp on the sharpening. Form what I remember, the forrest blades have sharper angles on thier teeth than most. You wouldn't want someone to change that.
John;
Check, http://www.bullsharp.com . Good luck

Thank you for your excellent suggestion. I did bookmark Bull Sharpening Svc.
Their price are attractive.

There has been a number of very good responses about Scott's Sharpening Service in AZ. I think he has a web site and is a fequent participant in the Wood Magazine forums.

You could try Ridge Carbide Tool, I just sent off 7 or 8 blades and it was under $100 I believe including shipping. The quality of the sharpenings is better than I have found here on the west coast locally. I also had them make me a custom blade, I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but the quality, fit & finish looks pretty good.

I've had a few things tuned-up at Bull Sharpening, and they do a great job! Since they're in the neighborhood, I've never gone outside the Chicago area for sharpening. And since they do a great job in a timely fashion, I've never questioned their work or their prices.
