I have to do the finishing on some trim work (cabinets and recessed paneling) that will be done in ash. Specs call for stain, coat of sanding sealer, and 2 coats of polyurethane. My question is: should the nail holes be filled after the sanding sealer or first coat of poly?
Thanks,
Charlie

Charlie,
FWIW, I fill the nail holes before the last coat of clear finish. For painted trim work, after it is primed.

*Thanks for the reply, Dano. On interior trim jobs, I've always had a painter behind me doing the finishing. On this job though, I am the painter.Charlie
