I have several 3 ounce jars of wood filling putty that I came by years ago at agarage sale or something. Made by the Color Putty Company of Wisconsin. I am trying to fill some brad holes in cherry. Mucking around with the various fill possilities among stuff I own. Anyway this stuff has died hard in all the jars. Sme of the jars are labeled “oil base”, and some give no clue.
Anybody know if this stuff can be reconstituted with …….?

Maybe Boiled Linseed oil. The SDS for Color Putty lists calcium carbonate, ground limestone and Soybean oil.. Glazing compound can be made from BLO and Whiting (calcium carbonate)

I'm gonna be That Guy here... If you put money, time, & effort into your cherry project why risk any form of failure with this ancient product? File it in the bin and move on to a modern product you can find usage instructions for.
