I recently recieved a Bosch Colt 1/4″ router. I am unable to keep the spindle lock engaged as I try to loosen the chuck. Has anybody else had this problem? How have you solved it?

http://forums.taunton.com/tp-breaktime/messages/?msg=88927.14 and 88927.19 Thought I recalled a later message where someone contacted Bosch about the problem and they sent him a wrench, but I can't find it. Since you're apparently not alone in this, it may be worth contacting Bosch; they may have found a fix for it.

thanks
I'll give it a try.
Call Bosch Customer Service and tell them you understand they are providing 10mm wrenches to Colt owners, they will want your name address and then send you one, my took about five days to arrive.

Mine wouldn't work either. I had a 10 mm wrench, so I ground the face of it thin enough to fit in that tight little space. The wrench works fine. I had the same problem with the spindle lock button on my Porter Cable 800-series router. I just use two wrenches with that also.
thanks -I'll check my bicycle tool kit.
Thanks
