I recently purchased the Veritas Combination plane. When the plane was delivered, I disassembled and cleaned all the parts. After all the parts were cleaned and lubricated I went to reassemble the plane; that’s when I ran into issues. My main issue is the sliding skate is binding on the rods that connect the main three components of the plane. When the parts are separated the rods appear to slide smoothly in all the components. I tried staggering the rods as mentioned in the manual but that didn’t resolve the issue. For any of you that have this plane, do the three main components slide easily for making adjustments? My second issue is with the micro adjust on the fence assembly; the screw that adjusts the fence appears to be bent, is this normal? I’ve reached out to Lee Valley for help but so far haven’t heard back from them. Thanks
