Comments on the Milwaukee 1.5 HP Router

Hello,

I like this router, and went to Pat warners site to see what he had to say about it. He said it’s a superb machine, but with a few surprises… Can you tell me anythiing about it whether pro or con?

Mike - if your talking about model 5660 then this is one of the loudest routers I've ever heard. It's one of Milwaukee's oldest models. It's a very powerful router, I once did raised panels with Whiteside bits with no problem. But if used extensively, I believe will cause hearing damage. I would much prefer handplanes than have to turn the 5660 on.

If this is the old 10 amp one, I have had one since 1980 and it is great. Back in '80 was when I bought a pair of earmuffs, old David Clarks. I always wear them because this router gets up and wails. It really rips tho. By the way, I refitted my David Clarks with new gel earseals and they are like brand new.
